COVID-19 Pandemic Update for the Afternoon of May 18th: Updated State Numbers

We have a COVID-19 update for you this afternoon.
Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 144,502 negative tests, 12,687 positive cases (an increase of 144 over yesterday) and 459 deaths, an increase of 6 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 2,068, or 16%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 28 positive and 565 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 41 positive and 1,803 negative, Eau Claire has 70 positive and 3,493 negative, Jackson has 15 positive and 680 negative, Wood has 7 positive and 1,259 negative, Marathon has 33 positive and 1,596 negative and Taylor still has no positive cases and 235 negative. Clark County has had 4 people die from the coronavirus. Marathon and Jackson Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus.
