Sunday, May 10th, 2020 -- 7:47 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

They heard a committee report. The Buildings and Grounds Committee met on April 22nd to conference with the lighting contractor regarding a proposal and they began discussion of possible summer maintenance and repair projects. Elementary Principal Joe Green provided an update on the Learning at Home for elementary students. Teachers continue to develop resource packets for students/parents. Also, Chromebooks were made available to families needing a computer and the meal program continues to grow, now serving nearly 200 children per day. Finally, he stated that work continues on the anticipated 2020-2021 implementation of the ARC program at the high school. District Administrator Todd Felhofer gave his report. He stated that the Safer at Home order runs through May 26th and then the state is looking at the possible Badger Bounce Back Plan. That plan identifies 3 phases and has gathering size restrictions at each phase. Governor Ever’s Safer at Home order is being challenged in the Supreme Court and there are many unknowns at this time. He also stated Letters of Reasonable Assurance were sent to the district’s support staff personnel on April 15th.

Letters for Substitute Teachers will go out this week. Teacher contracts will be sent out prior to the May 15th deadline. He also stated that prom is likely to be canceled and next year the district would do a Junior/Senior Prom. The Senior Awards Event will be recorded and broadcast over Facebook and the webpage on May 21st. A separate Graduation survey was sent to seniors and to parents regarding 2 possible dates and formats. Any graduation ceremony will need to conform to any public health order in place at that time. The new High School Learning at Home plan launched last week and things are going pretty well. Students were able to check-out a Chromebook if they needed a computer. Also, Greenwood High School was named a 2020 Best High School by US News & World Report. Greenwood was the top-rated high school in Clark County. Finally, for Staff Appreciation Week, they are opening the apparel shop for staff to select district apparel again this year.
