-The Neillsville City Council approved the asphalt bids at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved a few items during the Public Works portion of the meeting and then again during the regular Common Council meeting. First, they approved the recommendation to accept the asphalt bid from American Asphalt of Wisconsin in the amount of $78.70 per ton full width road paving and $130.65 per ton patch paving. Next, the board approved the recommendation to accept the Sand Creek Consultants, Inc., of Amherst quote in the estimated amount of $4,200.00 for the abandonment of the current MW-4 old landfill monitoring well, the installation of a replacement well and consulting services. Then, the council heard three bids to finance the construction of a new cemetery/parks building in the cemetery.

The amount is $360,000 and the board received a bid of 5-years at 2.90% from Citizens State Bank, 5-years at 2.95% from Unity Bank and 5-years at 2.58% from Associated Bank. The council selected the lowest bid from Associated. Finally, the board approved the resignation of Daryn Horn from the Planning Commission and accepted the recommendation of Natalie Erpenbach to fill that vacancy.
