COVID-19 Pandemic Forces Wisconsin Farm Bureau to Cancel Most Ag in the Classroom Summer Trainings

Tuesday, April 28th, 2020 -- 10:36 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions associated with it has promoted the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom program to cancel most summer training events.

"It is always difficult to make the decision to cancel a series of events that we know teachers and other educators were looking forward to, but the health and safety of our staff and attendees is a top priority," said Ag in the Classroom Coordinator Darlene Arneson. "We hope to offer similar programming in the future when restrictions have been lifted." Event cancellations and updates include the one-day trainings scheduled on July 9 in Oshkosh, August 14 in Oconto Falls and August 18 in New Richmond and the summer bus tour in Green County has been postponed to 2021.

The Back-to-School Kick-Off meeting at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center on August 22 is still scheduled to take place. Meanwhile, the deadline to apply for the MORE Grant has been extended until May 10. The training associated with these grants will be determined at a later date.
