Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Receives More Funding

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020 -- 9:45 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Due to COVID-19, the federal government has increased energy assistance funding to several programs, including the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

According to Alliant Energy, the crisis funding is now available to income-qualified households. Residents can apply for crisis funding even if they have already applied for or received LIHEAP benefits. "We encourage customers to apply now because funds are limited," the utility company said in a statement.

"For LIHEAP information including application deadlines and updated guidelines, visit our website at: www.alliantenergy.com/energyassistance." Meanwhile, the Hometown Care Energy Fund also helps income-qualified customers.
