-Taking a look at the updated state numbers of coronavirus cases from yesterday afternoon, the state has 45,323 negative tests, 4,346 positive cases and 220 deaths.

Of the positive cases, 1,190, or 27%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 16 positive cases and 136 negative. In case you missed it yesterday, Clark County did report the death of an elderly resident due to the coronavirus. Marathon and Jackson Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus as well. Wisconsin’s Peak Time for the virus, according to the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, has now passed. It went on to say that After May 18th, relaxing social distancing may be possible with containment strategies that include testing, contact tracing, isolation, and limiting gathering size. The website Unacast, as a part of a COVID-19 took kit, has released grades for each state and every county in the state regarding how well they’re following social distancing procedures using cell phone data. The state of Wisconsin has risen. A week ago, the state had received a grade of C-.

Now, the state has received a grade of C. Clark County has fallen slightly from a B- last week to a C this week. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has a grade of D, Eau Claire and Jackson have a grade of C-, Wood has a grade of D+, Marathon has a grade of C+ and Taylor has a grade of C. Wisconsin is under a Safer at Home order, which askses all residents to avoid unnecessary travel. You can still go to the grocery store or pharmacy, get gas, get dinner from a local business, work in the yard, walk the dog, ride a bike, etc.; just practice social distancing when you do so. The state saw widespread protest over the Safer at Home order this past weekend.
