Loyal School Board Discusses Employment Matters and Hears Administrators' Reports

Monday, April 20th, 2020 -- 9:04 AM

-The Loyal School Board approved some retirements at their meeting on Thursday.

Debbie Driscoll, Title I, submitted her retirement letter to the board as did Dean Bogdonovich, Head Boys Basketball Coach. The board thanked them for their years of dedication to the district’s programs and students. Also, the process for selecting both the Teacher and Support Staff of the Year award was reviewed. The nomination information will go to staff in early May. Jen Kadolph volunteered to be the Loyal board delegate to the CESA 10 annual meeting in August. During a closed session, the board was updated on a legal issue, they discussed faculty salary options and clarifications were given on financial obligations during this school closure. The Jr/Sr High Principal candidates were discussed and a contract will be presented to their choice. No announcement will be made until the contract is signed.

Finally, the Board heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary and High School Principals Nancy Popp and Chris Lindner both praised Jared and his staff volunteers for lunches and breakfasts. These are well received throughout Loyal. Next week, possibly Thursday, the FFA Alumni is going to distribute milk and cheese also. Reports were given on ‘school at home’ efforts and decisions on grading that need to be made. A Thank You note from Nancy Popp’s family was shared with the board.
