Neillsville City Council Approves Election Equipment from the County

-The Neillsville City Council approved the donation of new election equipment at their meeting on Tuesday.

The city clerk reported that Clark County has purchased and donated their new election equipment, DS200 Counter and Express Vote Marking Device, at a combined cost of $7,856 for each municipality within the county. The council accepted the election equipment and thanked Clark County for its donation. The city also heard four bids for the demolition and site clearance of the former Scott Davis property at 305 E. Fifth Street. They received four bids from Goetz Excavating, LLC of Neillsville for $12,690, Elmhorst Excavating & Trucking of Neillsville for $15,500, Opelt Sand & Gravel, LLC of Neillsville for $16,850, and Ed Rusch General Services of Lublin for $36,189. The council approved the low bid from Goetz Excavating.

Finally, the council approved the resignation of Neillsville Police Officer Benjamin Hintze. Chief of Police Jim Mankowski stated Hintze started shortly before he did and has served well doing an excellent job. He stated that he’s leaving for personal reasons. The council then approved Chief Mankowski to proceed with the hiring process to fill the police officer position vacancy.
