Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

Friday, April 17th, 2020 -- 9:31 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Report at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Joe Green provided an update on the at-home learning plan for elementary students, an update on the ARC reading program professional development and implementation at the high school, and that summer school and summer recreation programs are on hold until they receive more guidance from the state. District Administrator Todd Felhofer provided an update on some political items. Governor Evers indicated a decision on the Safe at Home order is “a ways away.” The order is scheduled to end April 24th. (Please note: The board meeting was held before the Governor's decision to extend the order.) He also stated the WIAA is scheduled to meet on April 21st to discuss the spring sports season and prom was postponed and no new date has been set.

He also stated graduation is still scheduled for May 23rd. The date or ceremony may need to be changed or altered if Safe at Home is extended. (Again, please see above note.) He also talked about Spring coaches pay. The recommendation would be to pay the coaches per contract. Coaches spend time prior to the season communicating with athletes, planning workouts and practices. During the closure, these activities have continued. Finally, he mentioned the “Be the Light” event is being planned for Friday evenings starting April 17th and the board heard some committee reports.
