CLARK COUNTY RECORDS 2ND TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Clark County Sheriff?s Department has released the names of the victims in Saturday?s fiery crash at an unmarked intersection northeast of Loyal.

The accident happened on Saturday morning as a truck towing a trailer loaded with lumber was westbound on Riplinger Rd. A second truck towing a mobile food stand was northbound on Pelsdorf Avenue. The two vehicles crashed at the unmarked intersection.

Shortly after the crash, the vehicles became engulfed in flames. The two occupants of the westbound vehicle were able to escape. Citizens were able to pull the driver out of the other vehicle. He was airlifted to St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.

The passenger in that vehicle, 59-year old Katherine Theys of Marshfield, was pronounced dead at the scene, becoming Clark County?s 2nd traffic fatality of 2005. The driver, 59-year old Abraham Theys, is listed in serious condition at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.
