Greenwood School Board Discusses Referendum

-The Greenwood School Board discussed the referendum at their meeting on Monday.At the time of their meeting, election results were just coming in, but they were hopeful with early results. As a side note, the referendum did pass 530 yes to 340 no. The board received an update on the health insurance renewal. The district will see a 10% increase in premiums for 2020-2021. The board also approved the preliminary 2020-2021 budget summary and reviewed a proposal to upgrade lighting in both schools. The project would result in energy savings.
Finally, the board approved a $1,000 donation from the City of Greenwood for Summer Recreation Program, approved the employment of Sierra Myers as a Kids Club assistant and Paige Lindner as an FFA assistant adviser and they approved the Cross Country team camp overnight event August 12th - 13th.
