Look for the Helpers: Neillsville School District

-“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”Those are the inspiring words to Mr. Rogers from his mother, so we’re going to try and find the helpers. Today, we look at the Neillsville School District. Since the district’s closure in March, they’ve been doing their best to provide educational material and other resources to make things easier on Neillsville students and parents. The district has also been providing breakfast and lunch to students during the closure and delivering meals to those that aren’t able to come to the district and pick them up. The district also approved leave for their support staff during closure and approved donating and even making personal protective equipment to donate to those in need. They've also been holding Stay Connected Spirit Weeks to help keep students connected and engaged. At each board meeting, the district has stressed the need of not being an unnecessary burden on Neillsville families that may already be struggling during these difficult times.
This may be a stressful situation for everyone, but we will get through this. Let's all work together and help each other along as we take the current situation day-by-day. And, if possible, make sure you continue to support our local businesses. They’re going to need our support now more than ever.
