One Person Dead, Another Arrested After Stabbing Near Stratford

(Marshfield News Herald) -Officers arrested one person following a chase that began with a stabbing outside of Stratford and ended with a crash on West Veterans Parkway, according to police.The Marathon County Sheriff's Department got a call about a stabbing Tuesday morning in which one person was dead and another injured. A suspect was involved in a crash at 9:11 a.m. on Wood County A and H in Marshfield, according to the Marshfield Police Department. The vehicle left the scene of the crash and became disabled, according to police. The stabbing suspect then stole a vehicle from Quality Roofing in Marshfield, according to police. Officers found the stolen vehicle in Spencer and a chase followed, according to police.
The chase ended when officers used stop sticks to deflate the vehicle's tires and then used a maneuver to cause the vehicle to crash and become disabled in the 400 block of West Veterans Parkway, according to police. The eastbound lanes of Veterans Parkway were closed for about two hours while police investigated.
