Look for the Helpers: Daniel Clark

Wednesday, April 1st, 2020 -- 9:53 AM

-“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

Those are the inspiring words to Mr. Rogers from his mother, so we’re going to try and find the helpers. Today, we look at an individual. Daniel Clark, a Spencer High School graduate and current state FFA vice president, is offering to help Spencer residents. According to the Hub City Times, with the longtime village grocery store closed once again, Clark is offering a grocery delivery service to village residents during the COVID-19 outbreak. The village used their Facebook page to get the word out about Clark’s services. On Mondays, at 9 a.m., Clark picks up grocery lists and takes them to Festival Foods in Marshfield. Clark asks that shopping lists are as precise as possible; you can use Festival Foods online shopping for assistance. His services require a check made out to Festival, signed and dated. The store cashier indicates the amount due on the receipt and Clark delivers the groceries to the person’s home. If you are interested in his complimentary service, during the safer at home order, you can contact Daniel Clark at 715-741-2646.

This may be a stressful situation for everyone, but we will get through this. Let's all work together and help each other along as we take the current situation day-by-day. And, if possible, make sure you continue to support our local businesses. They’re going to need our support now more than ever. If you know of someone who’s going above and beyond to help the community during this difficult time and would like them to be acknowledged for their work, please send me an email with details to [email protected].
