National Children's Center Offering Tips and Resources for Parents of Farm Children

Friday, March 27th, 2020 -- 9:17 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -To help parents of farm children manage through unprecedented times brought on by the Coronavirus, the National Children's Center at Marshfield Clinic's National Farm Medicine Center is offering a list of resources on topics ranging from appropriate farm tasks for youth to have fun, virtual adventures.

"We hear from parents who are juggling farm work, off-farm work and home-schooling," said NCC Director Barbara Lee, Ph.D. "And yet, children are still depending on us adults to keep them safe." Lee says no matter how difficult it is to be a farm parent during COVID-19, think how much harder it would be if a child suffered a serious injury.

Information is available on many different topics, ranging from tractor safety to virtual classroom materials. All of the resources are available at: https://www.cultivatesafety.org The National Children's Center is one of 11 Agricultural Safety Centers funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
