Red Cross spokeswoman Laura McGuire says that if you're healthy, giving blood won't hurt you.
"It is safe. There has been no correlation that by giving blood you are going to decrease your immunity."
McGuire says that blood donations are safe, both for donors and recipients.
"There's no way that the coronavirus is transmittable via blood donation. There's no scientific evidence or facts claiming that."
McGuire says blood donations should be on the list of things to do while you're out of your house during this time of distancing.
"There are essentials that you need. You need health care, you need groceries, and we need blood on the shelves."
You can find a location or schedule a donation time online at Red Cross Blood dot Org.
