Neillsville Police Department Taking Steps to Reduce COVID-19 Exposure
Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 -- 11:24 AM
-In an effort to keep the staff and community members healthy, and to reduce the risk of exposure, the Neillsville Police Department is taking steps to reduce face-to-face contact for non-priority incidents.Effective immediately the department is suspending some services including ride-alongs with patrolmen, tours of the police department offices and non-emergency vehicle unlocks. To request records please email [email protected]. Our office will remain open weekdays, 8am until 4pm but access will be limited to city staff and law enforcement personnel only. Patrolmen will continue to handle non-priority matters in person. Patrolmen responding to your residence will ask you to step outside to speak with them.
Examples of non-priority calls are minor thefts, animal complaints, civil disputes, lost/found property, etc. The police department has always had a cleaning and sanitizing routine for the squad cars and the office. We have increased the frequency of our cleaning routine since learning more about COVID-19. Our patrolmen all have access to personal protective equipment and disinfectants.
