Marshfield Working to Combat Spread of Coronavirus

(Hub City Times) -City of Marshfield officials are working to stay on top of this evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic by following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wood County and Marathon County Health Departments.

In response to this evolving situation, the city of Marshfield is taking the following steps by working closely with each city department head. The city supports the health, safety and wellness of our community, residents and guests so with careful consideration the activities listed below are going to be canceled or suspended until further notice effective March 16, which includes the following: Wildwood Zoo ; Wildwood Station; the Oak Avenue and Second Street Community Center, with elections planned for April 7, at both community centers and Wildwood Station, going on as planned (The Parks and Recreation office, Community Foundation and Job Center offices will be open as usual, just activities and events at the Second Street Community Center are suspended; Senior Center activities and events; ADRC meal site at the Community Center,( and the city will) work with Aging and Disability Resource Center staff on finding a solution in order to provide meals that are served at the Community Center; all activities and events through the Parks and Recreation Department.

For more information, you can visit the city’s website. Also, the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library is closed and will remain closed for several weeks. The Marshfield Clinic Health System Family Health Center dental clinics have temporarily closed due to health and safety concerns. The Wood County Circuit Court will be implementing temporary changes in their scheduling to address concerns related to the COVID-19 virus. All jury trials scheduled March 17 ??" April 17 will be rescheduled and less urgent matters may be rescheduled. If you have court in Wood County, you’re encouraged to call and see if your hearing is still scheduled. Finally, the Marshfield Utilities office will be closed to the public for the foreseeable future.
