(WRN) -U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson criticized coronavirus legislation that cleared the House by a large bipartisan majority. The bill cleared the House on Friday 363-40 - all Wisconsin Republicans voted no. Oshkosh Republican Johnson said he worried about "unintended consequences" in the House bill by mandating small businesses pay sick leave, saying it could drive them further into debt.
He said using existing state unemployment funds may be a better way to address the situation. Governor Tony Evers sent Johnson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin a letter over the weekend urging them to support the bill.
