Monday, March 16th, 2020 -- 10:23 AM

-Following the Governor’s declaration that all K-12 public and private schools be closed to fight the spread of the coronavirus, Clark County schools will be closing as requested.

The Neillsville School District will be closed beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th, with school potentially resuming Monday, April 6th, but the closure could be extended. The district is looking into virtual learning at this time. The district will also be providing free lunch and breakfast for students 18 and under beginning on the 19th and continuing during the closure period. Meals can be picked up from 8am-9am and from 11:30am-12:30pm. Meals can be picked up at the same time, but they cannot be consumed on site. The Granton School District will be closing tomorrow, March 17th and tentatively opening April 6th. The Loyal School District has decided they will be closing tomorrow, March 17th, and be closed until the 6th. Loyal will also be providing meals. The Greenwood School district will be closing tomorrow, March 17th, and will tentatively reopen on the 6th. Greenwood is also providing breakfast and lunch at the elementary and Willard Community Center. The meals can be picked up from 7am-noon at the elementary and from 7am-10am at Willard Center. Again, the meals cannot be consumed on site.

The Owen-Withee School District will be closing tomorrow, March 17th and tentatively reopening on the 6th, but their board is meeting tonight, so that could change. Owen-Withee will also provide breakfast and lunch free of charge to any student 18 and younger throughout the closure period. Drive up/Pick up of meals will be done at the gym lobby entrance. No meals will be eaten on site. Breakfast can be picked up from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM. Lunch may be picked up from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Both meals can be picked up at the same time if requested. If you ABSOLUTELY cannot pick up meals, or have someone pick them up for you, delivery will be available. The district CANNOT deliver 750 meals a day, so pick up is preferred. Thorp will be closing the 19th and will tentatively reopen on the 6th. Thorp is also planning on serving meals to all students 18 and under during the closure. Students will be given both breakfast and lunch at the same time to take home.

The Abbotsford School District will be closing tomorrow, March 17th, and is tentatively scheduled to reopen on the 6th. Teachers will continue to prepare academic materials for students during the closure. All activities and all facilities including the fitness center will be closed starting Thursday, March 19th. Continued communication will be sent out through the school website and Facebook page. Finally, the District is hoping to provide sack lunches to students during the dates of closure. The Colby School District will also be closing tomorrow, March 17th and is scheduled to tentatively reopen on the 6th.
