Team of Jackson County Students Win Statewide 4-H Quit Bowl Contest

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -A team of Jackson County students have topped the 2020 statewide 4-H Quiz Bowl contest held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus last week.Participants were asked about beef, sheep, swine and meat goat topics and students use a buzzer in order to answer the questions. The winning senior team members will represent Wisconsin at the National 4-H Quiz and Skillathon Contest in Louisville, Kentucky, later this year. Winning team members were Kaden Moseley, Trent Laufenberg, Grace Kling, Wyatt Berg and Austin Laufenberg. The runners-up in the senior division were from Polk County. This year's Junior Quiz Bowl winning team was also from Iowa County, with Jack Laufenburg, Luke Fischer, Jake Kling, Austin Olson and Doyle Hagen taking first place.
In the Skillathon contest, participants completed a written test, skill-a-thon stations and numerous live animal team exercises. The winning team was from Grant County and will represent Wisconsin at the National 4-H Quiz and Skillathon Contest in Louisville in November. Members of that team included Mason Crooks, Kendra Jentz, Abby Meier, Jessica Patterson and Avery Crooks. Jackson County placed second in that competition.
