Governor Evers Signs Bills Addressing Student Mental Health

(WRN) -Governor Tony Evers has signed bills addressing student mental health in Wisconsin.Evers was in Ashland Monday, where he signed three bills into law. One requires student ID cards issued by K-12 schools, colleges and universities include information about suicide prevention hotlines, but does not require immediate issuance of new IDs. A second bill establishes a school-based mental health consultation pilot program in Outagamie County.
The program will be operated by the Medical College of Wisconsin and could be expanded statewide. A third makes changes to the use of physical restraints and seclusion of K-12 students. Evers has now signed 118 bills in to law.
