Wisconsin All Milk Price for January

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin all milk price for January was $19.40 per hundredweight, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report.That was a drop of $1.90 from the previous month, but $3.20 higher than last January's price. The U.S. all milk price was $19.60 per cwt., $1.10 less than December 2019. All of the 24 major milk producing states except Florida had a lower price when compared with December. Meanwhile, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange 40-pound block cheese price closed at $1.72 per pound on February 28, while barrels were $1.59 per pound. The CME butter price was $1.72 per pound.
For the week ending February 22, the Agricultural Marketing Service U.S. weekly 40-pound block cheese price averaged $1.94 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.58 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $1.79 per pound.
