Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported that spring pictures by LifeTouch will be taken in the Elementary gym on Tuesday, February 18th. This will be the final photo session with LifeTouch as we are moving to a different company in the 2020-21 school year. He also stated that Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 4 to 6 PM; Read Across America is coming up the week of March 2-6 with the “Read In” being held from 2:15 ??" 3:00 PM; and Child Development Days for in-coming 4K kids will be Thursday, March 5 from 4-7 PM. He finished his report with giving an update on the AGR Fall Performance Report. Middle/High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark congratulated Dylan Kaae on signing his National Letter of Intent. She also stated the staff had a good in-service day on Friday with guest speakers and round table discussions. She also stated the Commitment to Graduation ceremony and 1st semester academics awards were held on February 10th.

She also stated, solo and ensemble for band and choir students was held on February 15th at Neillsville and Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 4-6 PM. District Administrator Bob Houts offered time for board members to tell some of the things they saw at the WASB Education Convention. He also presented information on the mil rate and how it has changed over the past 11 years. Mr, Houts also talked about a visit he had with the president of Forward Bank and their willingness to be involved with the FEMA project. He concluded by letting the board know that the CPI increase for base wage calculations for next year is 1.81% and he reviewed the search for the district’s next elementary principal with 6 interviews being set up for Wednesday, February 19th with two interview teams.
