(WRN) -In Washington, Wisconsin's congressional delegation unanimously supports a bill to combat Chronic Wasting Disease in the state's deer herd.House Democrat Ron Kind, and Republican Jim Sensenbrenner introduced the Chronic Wasting Disease Management Act nearly year ago, to support state and tribal efforts to develop and implement management strategies and support research regarding the causes of the prion disease. The bill will also support methods to control spread of CWD, which has been confirmed in 26 states.
There are serious concerns that the disease will continue to spread to herds across the country. There's no specific dollars attached to the bill, it calls for grants to research centers to support and accelerate research on CWD.
