Wisconsin has First Confirmed Case of Coronavirus

(WRN) -Wisconsin has it's first confirmed case of the new coronavirus.Dr. Ryan Westergaard, chief medical officer for the state Department of Health Services, said a positive test came back Wednesday morning, on an adult who was evaluated at the emergency room of UW Hospital in Madison. He said the person had mild symptoms, which include fever, cough and shortness of breath. The person is being isolated at home, and close contacts, along with UW Hospital staff involved in the care, are being monitored.
The person traveled in China in the past two weeks and came into contact with someone who had a confirmed case of the disease. Nine other people in the state have been tested for the new coronavirus. Seven have tested negative and results for two are pending. The risk to the public in Wisconsin remains low.
