Loyal Farm Receives Silver Ranking for Cow Herd

-A Loyal farm received a high ranking for its herd of cows.Wisconsin had four herds rank as 'Gold Winners' in the competition, and three earning 'Silver Rankings,' including Abel Acres near Loyal, owned by Perry and Kyle Abel. In addition, Marathon County dairy farm one of six operations from across the country to be honored for its exceptional quality of milk. Maple Ridge Dairy, which is owned by Brian Forrest and Ken & Phil Hein of Stratford, was recognized last week with a Platinum National Dairy Quality Award.
The program is coordinated by the National Mastitis Council, which held its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, last week. The purpose of the program is to recognize U.S. dairy producers who have successfully placed a high priority on producing quality milk.
