Transportation Safety Administration Out With New Security Guidelines for Air Travel in Response to the Coronavirus

Monday, February 3rd, 2020 -- 9:55 AM

(WRN) -The Transportation Safety Administration is out with new security guidelines for air travel in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The guidelines went into effect Sunday, and require all airlines to ask passengers booked on flights outside the country if they've been to mainland China in the last two weeks. Chinese nationals coming from China and connecting through foreign airports will not be allowed to travel.

U-S citizens who have been to China in the last two weeks will have to be re-booked through seven gateway airports, including Chicago O'Hare. A travel ban is also in effect. Major airlines are suspending flights to and from China. Flights could be on hold through the end of April.
