Greenwood Middle School Student Suspended for Bringing and Distributing Medication at School

-A Greenwood Middle School student has been suspended for bringing medication to school and sharing it with other students.According to a letter sent to parents in the district, a 7th grade male brought muscle relaxers to school and shared them with another male student. The district later learned that a female student had taken some of the medication as well. When the district was informed about this by students, they immediately detained the student that brought the medication and all three students were evaluated by emergency medical services.
The incident is still under investigation and the names of the students aren’t being released due to their age. Middle school students will attend a follow-up presentation about prescription medication abuse and peer pressure.
