Humbird Man Facing Charges of Failing to Provide Food and Water to Animals Appears in Clark County Court

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 -- 11:36 AM

-A Humbird man facing charges of failing to provide water for an animal after officers found dead and malnourished animals on his property appeared in Clark County Court on Tuesday.

According to court records, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department received complaints from a witness stating many dogs at the property of Russell Sandley had bones showing, little dogs were getting trampled and older dogs were even eating the little ones. Deputies found a skull, skin and fur on the ground in one of the kennels. Sandley stated he was trying to find the animals homes.

Sandley is facing four counts of intentionally failing to provide water to animals. He’s also facing three counts of possession. During his initial appearance on Tuesday, Sandley waived the reading of the charges and stood mute in court, so a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He’s scheduled to be back in court on February 20th.
