Dairy Milk Consumption Decline Continues

Monday, January 27th, 2020 -- 12:51 PM

(WRN) -As dairy farmers struggle with low milk prices, other beverages are gaining a traction with consumers.

Jen Walsh with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin said this week that even with 93 percent of households still drinking milk, the industry has seen a steady decline in consumption, which decreased by just over 74-and-a-half million gallons from 2016 to 2017.

The dairy industry lost about 4 percent of households in that period, and eighty-five percent of those bought something else.
