(WRN) -Another effort to end race-based mascots in Wisconsin schools, fails.Cultural appropriation, it seems, will remain an issue for local control. A resolution to end the use of Native American-based mascots, logos, and nicknames in Wisconsin public schools was was rejected Wednesday by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.
The vote was 218 to 101. About 30 Wisconsin school districts still using Native American mascot and nicknames.
