Milwaukee Mayor Seeking $50 Million Grant to Cover Security at this Summer's Democratic National Convention

(WRN) -Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is seeking a 50 million dollar federal grant to cover security at this summer’s Democratic National Convention.The application was filed Wednesday. Barrett says the money is needed so Milwaukee police can continue to do their job throughout the rest of Wisconsin’s largest city. The convention is still almost six months away.
Details of plans for the security perimeter in the downtown area are expected to be shared in the next few weeks.
