Carryover Vacation Time Approved at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 -- 9:22 AM

-It was an uneventful night at the Neillsville City Council meeting on Tuesday.

During the Public Works portion of the meeting, the council approved the carryover of unused vacation time for 2 public works employees. Because of some significant snowfall we received while the two individuals were on vacation, they needed to be called back in to help clean the streets. The city rarely has to do this. The last time it was done was 2013. The council approved the carryover with the exception that the time is used within 90 days. This was approved again during the Common Council meeting.

The council also approved an Neillsville Police Officer to carryover some unused vacation time from 2019 as well. Due to the department being short staffed, the officer was unable to use the time. The council approved it, again, with the stipulation it’s used within 90 days. Finally, the council approved the resignation of Julie Counsell from the Historic Preservation Committee.
