Professional Dairy Producers Foundation Monetary Donations Remain Steady

Saturday, January 11th, 2020 -- 7:47 AM

Despite low commodity prices in the agricultural industry, the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation says monetary donations over the past fiscal year have remained steady.

Wisconsin Ag Connection reports that According to the group's annual report, the PDPF brought in $375,603 in revenues from six different sources in 2018-19. The proceeds go to help support several programs for the Professional Dairy Producers as well as grants that launch new dairy producer-driven initiatives such as water stewardship producer groups and educational programs that educate and maintain public trust. The 'Two Cents for Tomorrow' campaign, which allows dairy operations to contribute up to two-cents per hundredweight from their milk checks automatically, was the biggest contributor to the past year's budget. That's followed by the 'I Believe' campaign, which is made up of dairy community businesses and individual financial gifts that are designated to the foundation.

In 2019, the PDPF also raised over $45,000 with its new 'Plant a Seed. Inspire a Dream' campaign. And they coordinate the silent auction at the annual PDPW meeting each March. The PDPF is a separate, charitable fund-raising arm started by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin in 2002 to focus on long-term education projects that give producers and industry supporters the opportunity to give back to their profession.
