Two More Teens Charged for Early December Bomb Threat at Marshfield High School

Thursday, January 9th, 2020 -- 10:36 AM

-Two more Marshfield teens are facing charges for bomb threats made at the Marshfield High School.

Back on December 9th, administration at the Marshfield High School was told about a bomb threat on a bathroom stall by 17-year-old Alyssa Portz. Similar threats were written in bathrooms throughout the high school. After questioning, Portz admitted to authorities that she and 17-year-old Simone Rootellis wrote the threats to get out of class. The two girls are facing charges of making terrorist threats and will appear in court February 10th. If convicted, and sentenced to the maximum amount, they could face 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Three other teens were arrested after they reported a bomb threat the following week at the Marshfield High School. 17-year-old Jared Roggenbauer stated he found a threat on a bathroom stall on December 17th and the district did evacuate the high school that afternoon. After questioning, Roggenbauer later admitted to writing the threat. He also stated that 17-year-old Gage Plechaty and 18-year-old Bradley Hendrickson had suggested the idea and checked the bathroom to make sure it was clear. They’re all being charged with making terrorist threats and are scheduled to appear back in court next week.
