PFAs Bill Advances in the Legislature

(WRN) -A bill dealing with a class of hazardous chemicals advances in the legislature.Commonly referred to as PFAs, the chemicals do not readily break down in the environment, and have been linked to decreased fertility, thyroid disease and some cancer. Products containing PFAs include firefighting foam, and a Senate committee approved a Republican bill by a 3-2 party line vote that would ban use such foams in most cases.
Democrats on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy said that doesn't do enough to protect the public.
