Wisconsin's Total Cheese Production Up in November

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -After seeing a dip in total output during October, Wisconsin's total cheese production went back up in November when compared to the same month during 2018.The latest dairy product summary from the USDA notes that state dairy plants made 284.3 million pounds of cheese during the month, which was 0.3 percent more than a year earlier, but 0.9 percent lower than this past October, which had more days on the calendar. Nationally, about 1.10 billion pounds of cheese was produced in the United States in October. That was 0.5 percent higher than 2018, but 3.2 percent less than the previous month's production totals.
Wisconsin's production of American cheese increased as the state produced 83.5 million pounds, about 1.1 percent more than last year, but 0.9 percent below last month's production. Dry Whey output in Wisconsin was recorded at 22.4 million pounds, which was up 1.9 percent from last year, but 5.8 percent less compared to last month.
