Water Levels on Lake Superior Still Near Record Highs

(WRN) -Water levels on Lake Superior remain at near record highs.Seasonal declines are expected in January, but the International Lake Superior Board of Control says levels remain at near record highs for this time of year. The lake went down by 1.6 inches in December but normally declines by 3 inches.
Level are still 13 inches above average and 4 inches higher than this time last year, meaning an increased risk of shoreline erosion, lakeshore flooding and coastal damage especially, during strong wind and high wave events.
