Local Boxers Move On From 2020 Wisconsin State Silver Gloves

Monday, January 6th, 2020 -- 6:30 AM

Community Boxing Club of Neillsville hosted the 2020 Wisconsin State Silver Gloves Tournament at the American Legion Post 73 in Neillsville and some area boxers are moving on to Regionals.

Nice crowds were on hand for both days of boxing. On Saturday night, Community Boxing Club member, Trumale Myers had a great bout and Niah Schoen also won her bout versus her CBC teammate Serenity Dockerty. Joe Polzin made his boxing debut with a win.
Also competing tonight in non-tournament bouts, but did not come away with the win were Willow Riddle, JJ Fuerenstenberg, Abigail Shilts, William Vargas.

Brooklin Schoen, Niah Schoen, Willow Riddle, and Trumale Myer were unopposed in the State Silver Glove tournament and advance to the Regional Tournament in Hinckley, MN on January 18.

On Sunday, CBC member Ashten Schultz lost his championship bout and unfortunately will not be moving on to Regionals.

The Silver Gloves Team Trophy was awarded to Lac du Flambeau. Best Bout award goes to Anthony Medina of Tenacious Boxing and Roy Cadena of Racine Warriors. Outstanding Boxer award goes to Kanapaehn Gauthier of MIBC.

The 2020 Wisconsin State Silver Gloves Tournament had a huge economic impact on the city of Neillsville with the hotel full, and restaurants and gas stations staying busy all weekend.

The 2020 Wisconsin State Silver Gloves Tournament was sponsored by Community Boxing Club, American Legion Post 73 and Central Wisconsin Broadcasting.

Community Boxing Club in Neillsville will be having an Open House on February 9th at 1 pm.
