Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association Holding Annual Winter Institute in Marshfield Next Week

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association is holding its annual winter institute next week to update members and producers about new trends and issues facing their industry.

The two-day forum is being planned for January 10-11 at Hotel Marshfield in Marshfield. Educational sessions will cover topics like product research, how to start a maple syrup business, marketing with effective labels, and causes of off-flavor syrup. Wisconsin's Agriculture Statistician Greg Bussler will share information on state maple facts. And Stefan Boerboom with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will review state regulations, licensing and inspection requirements.

A trade show, award presentations and the Maple Queen Coronation will also be held during the conference. The cost to attend is $40 for WMSPA members, $65 for non-members, and $15 for students. For more information about the winter institute meeting or to register, call 920-680-9320.
