Local Students Receive FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience Grants

Sunday, December 22nd, 2019 -- 11:50 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin FFA Foundation announced that nearly $34,000 has been awarded to 47 Wisconsin FFA members in Supervised Agricultural Experience program grants.

SAE programs apply the concepts learned in the agricultural education classroom and the skills developed through FFA membership to individual experiential learning projects. Programs are classified as placement or entrepreneurship and span a broad range of agricultural careers and businesses. The grants were awarded in five different SAE categories, including : dairy, grain production, livestock, organic agriculture and start-up. Successful candidates were chosen based on the level and scope of their SAE in accordance with their age, their future goals and plans for the program and financial need.

And some local Start-up SAE Grant recipients include Ashlee Piskow of the Granton FFA and Kayla Lobacz of the Owen-Withee FFA. The FFA Foundation says this latest distribution of SAE grants are the largest ever paid out from the organization.
