Granton School Board Approves Field Trip and More

-The Granton School Board approved a field trip at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the Out of State Fieldtrip to Dorian Vocal Music Festival and Art Teacher and Webmaster Dana Klein updated the board on the school district website. The board also approved the Chapter 2 School Board Policies related to the School Board and Athletic Director Cody Roggenbauer updated the board on the start of the winter sports season. Finally, the board approved the contract for Mathew Tyler as JV Boys’ Basketball Coach and they approved purchasing new choir robes. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Superintendent Scott Woodington reported on the spring election.
Notice of Election will go into the paper next week and candidates need to file a declaration of candidacy by 5:00pm Tuesday, January 7th. The Spring Primary Election will be February 18th if needed and the Spring Election is April 7th. He also stated the property just north and west of the softball field is being sold. In his discussion with the current owner, he decided they needed to have the property surveyed and discovered the north end of the softball field is located on that property. They will need to work with the new owners to resolve the issue.
