Cadott Man Dies After Accidental Shooting

(WQOW) -A Cadott man is dead in what police are calling an ‘apparent accidental, self-inflicted’ gunshot wound.According to WQOW, Cadott Police Chief Louis Eslinger stated the incident happened around midnight on Sunday. Police were called to an apartment on North Main Street for the report of a fatal firearm accident. When officers arrived, they found Richard LuJan, 26, of Cadott had died. According to police, LuJan and another person were drinking and playing with a handgun.
Officials believe LuJan did not know there was a bullet in the chamber when he pulled the trigger. Cadott police determined the death was accidental and said there is no threat to the public. Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott is assisting with pending funeral arrangements.
