Drug Take Back this Saturday

Thursday, October 24th, 2019 -- 8:40 AM

(WRN) -If you have old or unneeded meds in your house, it's time to get rid of them this Saturday with Drug Take Back Day.

You'll be able to find drop boxes for those prescriptions across Wisconsin, but Attorney General Josh Kaul says they don't want you bringing in dangerous drugs.

"So obviously people need to be careful about what they're putting in there. But if it's unused and unwanted medication, this is a great opportunity to dispose of those drugs."

Kaul says they've partnered with cities and police departments to help open up drug disposal drop boxes.

"Local law enforcement can direct you to a nearby drug disposal location, and they can also give you advice on what they best way is to get rid of those unused drugs."

Kaul says getting drugs out of the house can keep them from being misused.

"If drugs go unused, they can be diverted for illegal uses, and we want to encourage people to make sure that doesn't happen."
