FTD MEETING A SUCCESS

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005 -- 10:43 AM

A first-of-its kind meeting brought those that are organizing Farm Technology Days 2005 together at the Loyal High School gym last night.

A large crowd was on hand and Glenn Thompson, General Manager of Farm Technology Days, was blown away by the support.

"In my twelve-years as general manager, this is the first time any county has brought in this large number of volunteers to hear what the other committees are doing," Thompson commended, "This is extremely important because we need communication, communication, communication."

He also lauded the committees for being innovative.

At the center of the show is ?Tent City?, home to hundreds of exhibitors. There are 1,092 lots available and Anna Maynard, who oversees them, says 88-percent are already reserved.

"That's very good. We still have until April 15th for people to sign up before there is a late fee," Maynard said, adding she anticipates a sell-out.

Farm Technology Days 2005 will be held on the Malm farm north of Loyal this July 12th-14th. It is less than 110 days away.
