Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery, parks and equipment maintenance. They also had two burials. The department has been mowing/trimming, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, street sweeping and more. They are working on the lighting for Schuster Park and have sent notices to residents whose sidewalks present tripping hazards. They’re also doing maintenance on the ATV signs and they finished street construction for the year. Finally, it was mentioned the Sewer Department is doing lift station maintenance and the Water Department has finished reading meters and they assisted with street patching.
With the various city committees working on their budgets, the council heard several Committee Reports. They reviewed the Finance Committee Report from September 10th, which was held right after the Common Council meeting on that day. They also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from their meeting on September 18th. They heard an update on the Miss Neillsville Program, requested $1,500 for their 2020 budget and discussed some other topics and ideas for next year.
