Committee Reports at the Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the various committee reports from the past few weeks at their meeting last week.

They heard the Parks and Rec Board meeting from August 27th. The board heard a presentation from a member of the Friends of the Black River about placing boulders near the O’Neill Creek and Black River junction to reduce ruts, a presentation from an employee of Central Wisconsin Broadcasting and member of the Clark County Young Professionals about creating a family friendly event making use of the new band shell in Schuster Park and a proposal for a new location for the dog park in the city. They also accepted a donation. They also heard the Parks and Rec Board meeting from September 9th. The board approved the Parks and Rec budgets for 2020. The council heard the Beautification Report from August 28th. They discussed the Prock Park design, approved the new banner design for fall/winter and ordered them for $6,920. They also discussed fall decorations, an adopt a tree program for Christmas decorations and their 2020 budget.

The council also heard the Beautification Committee meeting from September 3rd. They discussed 2020 pricing for flowers and baskets. They also heard the Solid Waste and Recycling Committee Report from their meeting on September 4th. This was the meeting that discussed the city’s garbage and recycling program. They also heard the Airport Commission Report from their meeting on September 9th. They approved their budget for 2020. Finally, the council heard the Planning Commission Report from their meeting on September 9th. They approved the sale of industrial park land to Xcel Energy and the item was re-approved at the City Council meeting last week.
