5th Annual Family Fun Fest Happening this Saturday

-The 5th Annual Family Fun Fest is coming to the Greenwood High School on September 21st.I spoke with Suzanne Schoen and she talked about how the Family Fun Festival got started.
“We were in a meeting one day with a bunch of agencies and they said, ‘let’s bring back Family Fall Fest,’ which used to happen and the last time it happened was in 2010. So, we met with the individual who was doing that through Community Services, the director over there, and she gave us some great information and our group decided to run with it and call it Family Fun Fest and this is our fifth year.”
There will be a lot of activities for you to check out at Family Fun Fest.
“There’s going to be a ton of activities. We have indoor activities and outdoor activities. Some of our indoor activities include face painting, make your own crowns, bike helmet safety, make your own wind chime, there’s a corn pit scavenger hunt. Outdoor activities, which we have doubled from previous years, because one of our new committee members is the Clark County Sheriff, so he’s got a lot of great contacts. We’re going to have the Little Convincers Seatbelt Program, by the Wisconsin Troopers. We’re also going to have our police car display and ambulance and fire trucks display and train rides by Tractors for Autism.”
There will be some low cost concessions available.
“We’re going to have low cost concessions because our goal is to provide a free family event, which promotes safety, health and wellness and access to county resources.”
There will also be a bunch of great prizes for kids and adults too.
“I would like to highlight that we’re going to have 15 grand prize drawings and those are for different types of baskets for kiddos. We’re also going to have 2 grand prize drawings for parents since they’re bringing their kids there. They get the resources out of it, but they might as well get a chance to win something fun! Plus, we’re giving away 25 bike helmets. And we’re also giving away 3 ATV helmets because that’s another one of our outdoor activities.”
Suzanne ended our interview by reminding everyone of the date, time and place of the event
“So, it’s our 5th Annual Family Fun Fest. It’s going to be Saturday, September 21st at the Greenwood High School from 10am-2pm. We hope everyone comes early and stays the whole day!”
The Family Fun Festival is open to all families throughout Clark County.
