Class III Milk Price Exceeds $17 for the 2nd Straight Month

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -For the second straight month, the Class III milk price has exceeded the $17.00 mark.

This week, the USDA announced that the August Federal Order Class III price reached $17.60 per hundredweight. That's five-cents more than July's price and $2.65 higher than August 2018. It's the highest base price since December 2014. So far, the Class III price has averaged $15.83 during 2019.

The Class IV component price was 16-cents lower than last month at $16.74, but $2.11 more than last year. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin all milk price for July was announced at $18.80 per cwt., up 90-cents from June's price and $3.40 more than the same month a year earlier.
